블루노트 톤 포잇 바이닐 시리즈

블루노트 설립 80주년을 맞은 2019년부터 시작된 게이트폴드의 180g LP 재발매 시리즈. 'Tone Poet' 조 할리(Joe Harley. 1952년생)가 프로듀싱을 맡았고 케빈 그레이(Kevin Gray)가 오리지널 마스터 테이프에서 리마스터링했다. 두 사람은 앞서 뮤직 매터스 레이블의 블루노트 리이슈 프로젝트에서 호흡을 맞췄다. 프레싱은 미국 캘리포니아 RTI. 조 할리는 1982년 오디오퀘스트에 입사, 오디오퀘스트 뮤직을 통해 여러 앨범을 녹음했고 이후 1999년부터 텔락, 그루브 노트, 엔야, ECM 등에서 프로듀서로 활약했다. 애칭 톤 포잇은 함께 작업했던 색소폰 연주자 찰스 로이드가 지었다.

블루노트 클래식 바이닐 시리즈

2020년부터 시작된 블루노트 180g LP 재발매 시리즈. 톤 포잇 시리즈보다 싸고 스탠더드 패키지에 담겼지만, 케빈 그레이가 오리지널 마스터 테이프에서 리마스터링한 것은 동일하다. 프레싱은 독일 옵티멀 미디어. 개인적으로 친숙한 앨범이 톤 포잇 시리즈보다 훨씬 많다.

Curated by Don Was and Cem Kurosman, the series is an exploration of the extensive Blue Note catalog with titles that span the many eras and styles of the legendary label’s storied history. The series presents 180g all-analog vinyl reissues in standard packaging that are mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes and manufactured at Optimal. The current run of titles presents some of the most iconic Blue Note masterpieces by Jazz legends including Art Blakey, Horace Silver, Lee Morgan, Hank Mobley, Jimmy Smith, Donald Byrd, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Sonny Rollins, and more.

The Blue Note Classic Vinyl Reissue Series is a continuation of the acclaimed Blue Note 80 Vinyl Reissue Series which was launched in celebration of the Blue Note 80th anniversary in 2019. The Classic Series will once again feature all-analog 180g vinyl pressings in standard packaging that are mastered by Kevin Gray directly from the original master tapes and manufactured at Optimal Media GmbH in Germany. While the first 16 titles of the series focused on the best-known Blue Note classics from the 1950s and 60s, the new run of titles curated by Don Was and Cem Kurosman broadens its scope to include more eras and styles of the legendary label’s eight-decade history.
